The August 27 – 31 camp will feature guest musicians from Guanajuato, Mexico! RevoluSon is a group of young musicians devoted to the traditional music of Cuba and the east coast of Mexico. They will be an amazing addition to the School of Groove team!
School of Groove will have the pleasure of hosting Mexican Jarocho/Huasteco group Son del Monton in June of this year. The group will do a performance and workshop with the School of Groove students as well as some presentations in elementary schools in Vancouver and Victoria.
The schedule is set for the 2017/18 terms, including new workshops on Gabriola Island and Guanajuato, Mexico. See Classes and Workshops sections for more information.

We recently returned from the second successful educational adventure to Santiago de Cuba! Thanks to all who supported the project and we look forward to the next one!
The students of School of Groove are about to embark on another adventure to the birthplace of Cuban Son. We are excited to have the opportunity to study for the second time with some fabulous instructors of this traditional musical genre. This will be an exceptional opportunity for the students to be immersed in a unique musical culture and have unforgettable social and cultural experiences.
But opportunities like this cannot be possible without the help of many generous supporters, like you!! Please check out our crowd funding page (https://crowdgift.ca/schoolofgroove2017) or stay tuned for some other exciting fundraising activities (like zumba classes, concerts and more!)
The School of Groove journey to Santiago de Cuba to study Cuban Son was an amazing success! There were five days of workshops with some of the best teachers, some sight-seeing, lots of music, new friendships and experiences. Thanks to everyone who helped make it possible!
